Andorra is a tiny Principality on the border of Spain and France. It was formed in 1278 and is headed jointly by the Catholic Bishop of Urgell in Spain and the President of France. The official language is Catalan but Spanish and French are also commonly spoken. English is well understood. The country has a high standard of living and one the highest life expectancies in the world. The population is only about 80,000 however annual tourist numbers are over 10 million due to the fact it is in the Pyrenees mountains and there are ski slopes everywhere.
